Accurate diagnosis is vital in order to determine what appropriate treatment is needed for you to embark on.

For starters, you must basically know what are tags, fundamental symptoms, and their causes. Tags or acrochordons are harmless benign tumors characterized by a formation of protruding excess or flaps of skin. Before you resort to tags removal, make sure that it is indeed because malignant cases are not at all recommended for natural or ordinary removals. It is best to consult the cosmetic surgeon before resorting to the valuable and common tips in removing those types of skin problem.

People suffering from tags have actually two main options:

1. For removal processes through clinical procedures:

For the removal of their skin issues. You may have your tags removed through going to derma clinics and seeking professional assistance. You may opt for cryosurgery or ligation. The former procedure is done through freezing the skin tags using liquid nitrogen which is much quicker and safer.

The latter on the other hand is done through cutting off the blood flow to the tags which causes the excess skin to eventually fall off. Your derma may also use scissors or through cauterizing or burning the cells in the skin or wound using an electrically heated metal.

2. Natural removal is another option :

This is done by using tea tree oil and castor oil. Do the removal of this tag by washing the skin tags with water and soap as you let it dry out.

Then soak a cotton ball in water and drop tea tree or castor oil three times and rub it against the infected skin. Castor oil can also be mixed with baking soda to make a paste to apply on the tags.

Effective removal of tags is definitely your ultimate goal and this gives you rewarding output on skin health and overall wellness.

Nose Re-Shaping (Rhinoplasty)

A nose job (technically called as rhinoplasty) is a surgery of the nose to change its shape or improve its function. It can be done for medical reasons – such as to correct breathing problems related to the nose or correct disfigurement resulting from trauma or birth defects.

It can also be done for cosmetic reasons, which will change the nose’s shape and appearance. If you are thinking about getting a nose job, set up an appointment with your surgeon to discuss it. During that meeting, talk about your goals and tell the doctor what bothers you about your nose and how you would like to change it.

Keep in mind that there is no such thing as a perfect nose. Surgery, though, can enhance facial features and emphasize your unique and natural beauty. A plastic surgeon can describe the facial features that make you unique and tell you how changes would enhance your appearance. The surgeon will evaluate the structure of your nose and other facial features. After this evaluation, he or she can tell you if your expectations are realistic.

The surgeon will also consider your overall health and should discuss with you the risks, recovery time, and cost involved. There are various techniques for reshaping the nose. Once you decide to go ahead, your surgeon should describe exactly what he or she proposes to do.

Rhinoplasty Procedure Steps :

A nose job is usually done as an outpatient procedure, meaning there is no overnight stay. You’ll get general or local anesthesia. With general anesthesia, you’ll sleep through the operation. With local anesthesia, you will be sedated and your nose will be numbed so you are relaxed and unable to feel the pain.

During operation, the surgeon makes cuts within the nostrils. In more difficult cases, the surgeon may also make cuts across the base of the nose. The surgeon then reshapes the inner bone and cartilage to produce a more pleasing appearance.

Nose Job Recovery :

After a nose job, people usually wear a nasal splint for the first week. You can expect swelling and some bruising around the eyes after surgery that will begin to improve after the third day. It can, though, last up to two weeks.

Expect your nose to have a little swelling, which probably only you and your surgeon will notice. This will go away over the next six months. The final shape of your nose will be apparent after it has completely healed.

Lip threading: A New Cosmetics Trend Emerging to Contour & Define Lips

Lip fillers have long been the pout plumping treatment of choice, ever since Kylie Jenner admitted to having the procedure on Keeping Up With The Kardashians in 2015 and while fillers were named the most popular procedure of 2016 and every year since they could soon be taken over by a new emerging beauty trend.

Lip threading is the temporary procedure which has been taking the cosmetics industry by storm – and it works by defining the lips instead of adding volume which can result in the ‘trout pout’ look.

Credited with leaving customers with a more subtle effect, it involves inserting dissolvable threads into the edges of the lips, and takes just 30 minutes.

Is Lip Threading for me?

If you have considered or have got lip fillers before and are tired of getting HA Filler injections every 6 months to maintain your pout, this maybe the right procedure for you. Korean PDO threads are an alternative to HA Fillers with the added advantage of the Korean threads stimulating collagen production and long longevity of the effect of threads, more than double that of HA Fillers. It lifts the tissue providing tension and makes it tort and well defined.

Does it hurt?

Lip threading, essentially, is passing threads through your skin to make your lips appear more defined. The threads are made up of a biocompatible [non-toxic to living tissue] synthetic substance. They’re placed into the lip to help stimulate collagen production, which changes both the shape and size of the lip.

The procedure is not pain-free, though it is tolerable. A small injection of local anesthetic to the injection entry site may help to reduce the discomfort.

Lip Threading Side Effects and is it safe?

The threads break down naturally in the lips [over time]  which means it’s made for those who are looking for lasting results.

Unfortunately, if it causes any side-effects, such as granulomas [lumps in the skin, usually produced by the body in response to inflammation or a foreign substance], or allergic reactions, treating them would be very difficult since the threads are not dissolvable or [easily] reversible. You’d need to wait for one to two years for it to dissolve naturally.

Lip threading is safe, as long as it is carried out by an experienced medical practitioner. If you are planning on having a cosmetic procedure of any kind, it is always advisable to consult a qualified aesthetician and seek medical advice.

How long does the procedure take?

Once the area is numbed with a local anaesthetic, the actual procedure takes around 15 minutes.

How can I prepare for the procedure?

Avoid blood thinning over-the-counter medications such as Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, and Aleve one week prior to injections.

Avoid supplements, including St. John’s Wort, gingko biloba, primrose oil, garlic, ginseng, and Vitamin E for one week prior to injections.

Avoid topical products such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinol, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, or any “Anti-Aging” products for 2 days prior.

Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or hair removal cream on the area to be treated for 2 days prior.

Do not drink alcoholic beverages 24 hours prior.

Start taking Arnica two days prior to the procedure. (This is not required, but will help to lessen bruising).

If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores. Please let us know if you are prone.

Inform us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any ingredients, or suffer from neurological disorders. If this is so, this procedure may not be for you. Please inform us if you have any questions about this prior to your treatment.

How is the procedure carried out?

A thorough consultation is required before it is deemed that this procedure is right for you. Some measurements will be taken of the lip dynamics and markings will be made at certain strategic areas to suit what you desire. A local anaesthetic cream is then applied. Based on your measurements, certain lengths and types of threads are selected and inserted into the lips.

How long is the downtime?

It can take up to two weeks. You should ensure you don’t need to be ‘red carpet’ ready within that period.

How long do these threads last?

1-2 years.

How much does it cost?

Upper and lower lips in one sitting- £750

Upper Lip only – £450

Lower Lip only – £450

What is the main difference between filler and threads?

Filler volumizes the lips by injecting hyaluronic acid into the body of the lip, while ‘threading’ involves dissolvable threads being injected into the outline of the lips for a more contoured look.

Both procedures carry a similar cost, procedure time and downtime, although the effects of threading are more subtle and are said to last longer.

Fillers can result in lumps forming or swelling, while threads are said to be less prone to unwanted side effects but harder to reverse.

Dark Circles Under The Eyes & Their Medical Treatment

Dark circles under the lower eyelids are common in men and women. Often accompanied by bags, dark circles can make you appear older than you are. To make the matter worse, they can be difficult to get rid of.

Though they can affect anyone, dark circles are most common in people who:

– are elderly.

– have a genetic predisposition to this condition.

– are from non-white ethnic groups (darker skin tones are more prone to hyperpigmentation around the eye area).

While fatigue may seem like the most logical explanation for this condition, there are a number of factors that can contribute to dark circles under the eyes. In most cases, there are no causes for concern and do not require medical attention.

What causes dark circles?

Fatigue – Oversleeping, extreme fatigue, or just staying up a few hours past your normal bedtime can cause dark circles to form under your eyes.

Age – Natural aging is another common cause of those dark circles beneath your eyes. As you get older, your skin becomes thinner.

Eye strain – Staring at your television or computer screen can cause significant strain on your eyes. This strain can cause blood vessels around your eyes to enlarge. As a result, the skin surrounding your eyes can darken.

Allergies – Allergic reactions and eye dryness can trigger dark circles. When you have an allergic reaction, your body releases histamines as a response to harmful bacteria

Dehydration – Dehydration is a common cause of dark circles under your eyes. When your body is not receiving the proper amount of water, the skin beneath your eyes begins to look dull and your eyes look sunken.

Sun overexposure – Overexposure to the sun can cause your body to produce an excess of melanin, the pigment that provides your skin with color. Too much sun, particularly for your eyes can cause pigmentation in the surrounding skin to darken.

Genetics – Family history also plays a part in developing dark circles under your eyes. It can be an inherited trait seen early in childhood and may worsen as you age or slowly disappear.

Medical Treatments

For a more effective and permanent solution, some medical treatments are available to reduce the appearance of dark circles. Some of the more common methods include:

1. Chemical peels to reduce pigmentation.

2. Laser surgery to resurface the skin and enhance skin tightening.

3. Medical tattoos to inject pigment into thin skin areas.

4. Tissue fillers to conceal blood vessels and melanin that are causing skin discoloration beneath your eyes.

5. Fat removal to remove excess fat and skin, revealing a smoother and more even surface.

6. Surgical implants of fat or synthetic products.

Before deciding on any cosmetic procedure, discuss your options with a doctor. Invasive medical treatments can be expensive, painful, and often require long recovery time.
